In brief: This Pink Floyd tribute act has been at it since 1988, and they do a terrific job of recreating the arena-era Pink Floyd, scaled back for a theater setting. At various points, they've worked with close Pink Floyd associates, including the sound engineer for PF's final tour and Nick Mason's drum tech. But just like a Kiss cover band, the musicians playing the music mostly take a back seat to the spectacle, and the Australian Pink Floyd Show delivers it.
The crowd: While it doesn't claim the same broad appeal as "Rumours," Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" has remained a consistent seller since its release 41 years ago. Each year, a fresh batch of teens discover the band soon after they convince their parents to let them move into the basement where there's more "privacy." Also, Pink Floyd is back in the news, as the group is set to release a new album, the mostly instrumental "The Endless River," in November. That's likely to draw in some older fans eager to see the next-best thing.
